ROCK HILL, SC—The Winthrop men's soccer team returns to the pitch after a 10-day layoff as it heads to Boiling Springs, NC to take on Gardner-Webb, Wednesday evening at Greene-Harbison Stadium.

Fabian Broich returned from injury against Appalachian State and has allowed one goal in the last 196 minutes and 42 seconds. The lone goal was an absolute crack from the top of the box into the right corner of the goal from Liberty's Kyle Carr.
ABOUT OPPONENTThe Runnin' Bulldogs enter the game with a 1-8 mark overall and are 0-1 in the Big South. Gardner-Webb opened league play on Sept. 25 at fifth-ranked Coastal Carolina, falling 4-0. Gardner-Webb is in the midst of a seven-game losing streak. Sami Jilla leads the team with six points (2 goals) while Filipe Conceicao and Marvin Mendy each have five points (2g, 1a each). Hunter Frey also has two goals on the year as the team has nine different goal scorers on the season.
William Liles and Matthew Swan have pretty much split equal time in goal for the Runnin' Bulldogs this season. Each has played five games and nearly the same amount of minutes. Liles is 1-3 with a 3.23 goals against average while Swan is 0-5 with a 3.44 goals against average.
