LAST MATCH
Winthrop scored four first half goals by four different players to cruise to a 4-0 win over Presbyterian College. Junior Max Hasenstab continued his impressive streak as he scored for the sixth straight game and now has eight goals during that stretch. Senior Jordi Lluch got back into the scoring column with his seventh of the season as he also assisted on the game-winning goal. Magnus Thorsson scored the first goal of the game that proved to be the game-winner, which is his third winner of the season in four goals scored. Charles Coulson added the fourth goal late in the first half and now has four on the year and two in the last three games.

NCAA RANKING
With four goals in their last game, the Eagles offense moved from 21st to 14th nationally in scoring with 2.17 goals per game. Winthrop as a team now ranks 11th in points per game, 26th in total goals and 29th in total assists. Hasenstab moves into the top 10 nationally in scoring with 1.8 points per game. He ranks 3rd in shots per game and shots on goal per game, as well as ranking 5th in goals per game. Lluch moved up to 31st nationally in goals per game and is 36th in points per game.

WHO TO WATCH
Hasenstab has scored in six straight games, which is a career-best for him. He's scored all eight of his goals on the season in the last six games and in two games against High Point has one goal. High Point goalkeeper Kody Palmer has logged more minutes in goal than anyone else this season. He's currently 36th nationally in goals against average at 0.801 and 11th in save percentage. He has six shutouts on the year with two of those in league action.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Winthrop is bidding for a seventh straight win as it heads to High Point. The Eagles won six in a row last season and then hit the road for a game at UNC Asheville in a game that finished 1-1. That did stretch an unbeaten streak to seven games, which eventually stretched to eight games. High Point ended that unbeaten streak on Eagle Field with a 3-2 double overtime victory. A win against the Panthers will more than likely secure a top four seed for the Big South Tournament. If the Eagles tie or win they will still be in good position for a top four finish and hosting a first round tournament game. There are just four games remaining for the Eagles as two of the opponents are in the top four of the league standings and three in the top five.

ABOUT OPPONENT
The Panthers haven't played since their 2-1 loss at #25 Radford on Oct. 17. HPU has won two of the last three games. Anchored by senior Kody Palmer in goal, the Panthers feature one of the top defenses in the nation and the Big South. As a team they rank 32nd nationally in goals against average and second in the Big South. They haven't allowed more than two goals against in a game and have done that just four times. HPU has a balanced offensive attack that has seen 12 different players score goals this season with Avery Ryan leading the way with five goals. There are five others with two goals. Renato Punyed is one of those and both of his goals have been game-winners.

SERIES HISTORY
This will be the 23rd meeting between Winthrop and High Point in a series that dates back to 1983. The series had two matchups before taking a hiatus from 1985-1998 when the series picked back up and has been going since as the Panthers joined the Big South Conference. Winthrop has a 15-6-1 all-time series lead but in league games against the Panthers it's much closer at 9-6-1. In recent years the Panthers have owned the series having won four of the last five meetings. Winthrop has won two of the last three meetings at Vert Stadium by scores of 2-1 and 1-0. In fact, five of the last seven meetings have been decided by one goal. Winthrop's biggest win came on Sept. 25, 2002 with a 7-0 victory at home. High Point's largest win came on Oct. 1, 2011 at Vert Stadium with a 6-0 victory.
