ROCK HILL, SC—Erica Williams was named the Big South Conference Player of the Week by College Sports Madness for her back-to-back double-double performances last week against Longwood and Charleston Southern.
 
In the two wins, Williams scored 21 points and had 11 rebounds in Winthrop's 81-48 win over Longwood, and followed that with 19 points and 11 rebounds in a 79-50 victory against Charleston Southern.  In those two games, she combined to shoot 77.2 percent on 17 of 22 field goals, including a perfect 8 for 8 against CSU.  She came within two assists of having a triple double against CSU as she handed out 8 dimes.  In three conference games, she is now averaging a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds per game.
 
Williams and her Eagle teammates will play three Big South games this week beginning with home contests on Monday night against Gardner-Webb and Thursday night with UNC Asheville.  On Saturday afternoon, Winthrop will travel to High Point.
