Scoring started to become more consistent in the final 15 minutes as Kasmarik scored her third of the game to put Winthrop up 3-2 with 12:36 on the clock.  Krista Frowein and Danielle Ellis scored only 40 seconds apart to give the Eagles a 5-3 edge with 10:04 left in the half.

After Abigail Blevins put the Eagles up 6-3, Liberty pulled one back to get within 6-4.  Winthrop then rattled off four unanswered goals, two each from Kasmarik and Abigail Blevins.  Liberty scored twice in the final two minutes to pull within 10-6 at halftime.

Liberty came out and got the first goal of the second half before Shannon Gallagher and Kasmarik got the Eagles on the board, going back up 12-7.  The Flames responded with three unanswered of their own to get within 12-10 with 19:31 to play in the contest.

Winthrop came back and scored three of the next five goals with tallies from Gallagher, Blevins and Frowein.  The Eagles led 15-12 with 10 minutes left and closed the game strong.  Winthrop scored three unanswered from Gallagher, Kasmarik and Sydney Cope and Danielle Ellis capped off the 19-14 victory with a goal with 24 seconds left.
