Soccer Team Works With Boys and Girls Club Members On Yoga
ROCK HILL, SC--Winthrop;'s Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) spent a fun-filled week working with the Boys and Girls Club of York County during the kids' spring break.

On Tuesday about 130 elementary school children from the Northside and Fort Mill clubs visited the Winthrop Campus. Dan Ridenhour led the children and about 60 student-athletes in Kid's yoga in the West Center before the group moved to Dina's Place in the DiGirogio Student Center to play "Who's Smarter than a Boys and Girls Club Member?"  Teams of six student-athletes competed against teams from the club.  Although both rounds were close, the K-2 team and the 3-5 team defeated the student-athletes.  All children who attended were given Winthrop Eagle shirts.

The student-athletes also visited both the Northside and Fort Mill clubs on Wednesday and Thursday afternoon to host Easter Egg Hunts.

On Thursday, 20 Teen Center middle school students visited the Winthrop Coliseum for  a pizza lunch with student-athletes and coaches.  The student-athletes then led the group on a tour of the facilities, including stops at the women's soccer, lacrosse, men's soccer and men's basketball lockers rooms, the athletic training center, the Rock Hill Coca-Cola Academic Center , and the strength and conditioning room.

All Winthrop athletic teams except those in competition last week participated.
