Eagle Lacrosse Game Against Coastal Carolina Postponed Until Monday At 4 p.m

Rain Forces Postponement Of April 19 Lacrosse Match Until Monday

ROCK HILL, SC – The Winthrop lacrosse game scheduled for Saturday night against Coastal Carolina has been postponed due to inclement weather until 4 p.m. on Monday on Eagle Field.

The Eagles (4-10, 1-3) are looking to get back in the win column against the Chanticleers who Winthrop defeated 10-8 in Conway, SC.

Junior Jenna Kasmarik scored seven goals in two games last week, pushing her conference-leading goal total to 44 on the season.  She has a total of 47 points which leads the team and is fourth in the conference.  Sophomore Hayley Krause leads the team and is tied for first in the conference with 54 draw controls on the season.

The Chanticleers are 4-10 overall this season with a 2-3 conference record.  Coastal is coming off a 7-6 victory at Liberty on Sunday with their other conference victory coming over Campbell. 

Coastal Carolina has three players with 20 or more goals and is led by Sara Nolan with 25.  Keri White has totaled 20 goals and 15 assists this season to lead the team with 35 points.  Jenna Stover and Trista Keuhn have been the two primary goalies for the Chanticleers with Stover getting the start in the last four outings.  Stover has a 3-4 record and averages four saves per game.

Winthrop will close out its regular season next week with a road game at Liberty on Friday, April 25 before hosting Presbyterian on Senior Day Sunday, April 27.
