Kasmarik Scores Four Goals In Eagles' Conference Loss to High Point Sunday

ROCK HILL, SC – Junior Jenna Kasmarik scored four goals Sunday afternoon as the Winthrop lacrosse team fell to the High Point Panthers in a Big South Conference contest 18-7.

Winthrop's first goal of the contest came on a free-position attempt from Jenna Kasmarik to pull the Eagles within 4-1 with 23:49 left in the half.  Kasmarik picked up her second of the half with 8:13 on the clock and the game went into half 12-2.

The Eagles (4-10, 1-3) stepped up production on both sides of the ball in the second half, limiting High Point (8-5, 4-0) to six goals while tallying five of their own.  Kasmarik added two more goals in the second half while Hayley Krause, Abigail Blevins and Shannon Gallagher each scored a goal in the loss.

Kasmarik's four goals came on seven total shots and she also tied for the team lead in draw controls with three with Hayley Krause.  Gallagher picked up an assist to go along with her one goal.  Goalie Camille King finished with three saves and three ground balls while Paige Jenkins forced two turnovers.

The Eagles will now have nearly a week break before hosting the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers on Saturday, April 19 at 6 p.m. at Eagle Field.
