Winthrop Lacrosse Closes Inaugural Season Sunday At Home Against Davidson at 1 p.m.

ROCK HILL, SC – The Winthrop lacrosse team will host the Davidson Wildcats Sunday at 1 p.m. in the final game of the Eagle's inaugural season.

Freshman Shannon Gallagher leads the league in total goals with 54 and goals per game with an average of 3.6.  Davidson's Ann Fucigna is second in both categories with 48 total goals and a 3.2 goals per game average.

Freshman Hayley Krause will have some stiff competition in the center circle Sunday.  Krause leads the league and is second in the NCAA, securing 6.69 draws per game.  Davidson's Emma Sissman is second in the Big South with a 3.73 draws per game average.

The conference tournament will start at Davidson on Friday, April 26 with the semi-finals and the championship on Sunday, April 28.  Davidson will be joined by High Point, Liberty and Longwood with final pairings and seedings to be announced Sunday.
