ROCK HILL, SC--Winthrop junior point guard
Dequesha McClanahan has added another post-season honor to her list of awards as she has been named to the 2013 Madness All-Mid Major Women's Basketball Fourth Team by the staff of College Sports Madness.
McClanahan led the Big South Conference in scoring and assists for the second straight year and was voted the conference's Player of the Year for the second consecutive season after leading Winthrop to a second place finish in the Big South regular season and an automatic bid to next week's WNIT. In addition to her Player of the Year selection, McClanahan was also a All-Big South First Team honoree and earned a spot on the 2013 Big South All-Academic Team.
McClanahan (Oak Ridge, TN) has averaged 19.9 points and 5.9 assists this season and is only 43 points away from becoming the all-time leading scorer in Winthrop women's history. She will enter WNIT action with 1,657 career points.
