ROCK HILL, SC- The Winthrop women's soccer team fell to Charleston Southern 3-0 Wednesday afternoon, ending a four- game win streak and a three- game shutout streak for the Lady Eagles. Winthrop falls to 9-3-1 and 5-2 in the conference and Charleston Southern improves to 6-8-1 and 3-4 in the Big South.

Charleston Southern dominated the first half putting up eight shots to Winthrop' one, before sophomore Chelsea Frankeny beat her defender and put a shot past goalkeeper Amelia Henderson just 24 minutes in. The Bucs continued to control the game holding Winthrop to just two shots on goal both coming in the last ten minutes of the half from sophomore Eden Ralph and freshman Samantha Prytulak.
The second started off evenly matched with most of the action happening in the middle of the field, but the Bucs would make it 2-0 when senior Toni Lashey ran onto to a pass from Allison Lewis and slotted the ball past Henderson in the 57th minute. CSU received its final goal with 18:02 left in the game from a lone effort from sophomore Chelsea Phillips. Phillips dribbled the ball half the length of the field before ripping a shot from 25 yards out finding the space just under the crossbar and above Henderson's fingertips. Freshman Carolina Duncan was subbed into the game but didn't get to make any saves since neither team had a shot in the last 15 minutes.

The Lady Eagles will return home and honor this season's senior class at Senior Day on Saturday against Campbell at 1:00 P.M.
