Four Winthrop Women's Golfers Earn NGCA All-American Scholar Honors

ROCK HILL, SC--Four members of the  Winthrop women's golf team have been named tp the 2012 National Golf Coaches (NGCA) All-American Scholar Team for Division I marking a record number of Eagles recognized in the same year. .  

Katie Bolling, a May 2012 graduate from New Brighton, MN, was named to the team for a fourth straight year.  She is joined on the team by three first-time honorees--sophomore Allison Lee (Salisbury, NC), and freshmen Jennifer Dilger (Palmdale, CA) and Rachel Wyatt (Blythewood, SC).

"I am very proud of these four golfers for what they accomplish in the classroom and on the golf course," said Winthrop head coach Jodie Wendt.  "Katie accomplished something very special by achieving such high academic standards for her entire career. All four young laides are true examples of what the term student-athlete means."

A total of 586 women's golfers from NCAA Division I, II and III colleges and universities were recognized with this prestigious honor. The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50.
