Head Coach
Mark Cooke said, "Were competing and going after it against these ranked teams. Our hitters hit two bombs against great pitching. Our two best pitchers struggled early in the game and Sarah Allen came in and did a good job for us. "
It was another group effort by the Eagles pitching staff to try to hold off the Aggies' offense.
Chelsey Schoenfeldt started the game and gave up four runs, on four hits and one walk before being replaced by
Natalie Becker in the second inning. Becker only faced four batters and was replaced by Sarah Allen after giving up one run and two walks. Allen came into the game in the third inning and pitched the rest of the game for the Eagles. She gave up three runs on five hits and two walks but also recorded one strike out. Schoenfeldt suffered the loss and is now 5-6 on the year.
The Eagles offense recorded two runs, six hits and three walks in the game. The two runs scored by the Eagles came in the sixth inning off of solo home runs from Schoenfeldt and
Alex White. With the home runs today, Schoenfeldt and White each have three on the year. White had a single up the middle in the second inning making her and
Teja Durante the only two Eagles to have a multiple hit game today. Durante came into the game in the fifth inning and recorded two singles.
The Eagles play their third and fourth games of the Chevron Spring Fling Invitational against Marist at 7:30 p.m. and #6 Texas tomorrow at 10:30 p.m. (EST).
