ROCK HILL, SC-- The men's soccer team is looking to build on its victory over the weekend as it hosts Presbyterian College Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. at Eagle Field.
Winthrop is coming off its second road win of the year, earning a 1-0 victory in overtime at Liberty on Saturday. It was the first win at Liberty in almost 20 years and improves the team's chances to make the Big South Conference Tournament in November.
The Eagles improved to 5-9 overall and 2-3 in the Big South with four conference matches remaining.
Winthrop earned the victory despite missing its leading scorer in junior
Alex Mantchev and junior
Matt Sluga, who has started five games and played in 12.
Mantchev could possibly return for Saturday's match while Sluga should return against Presbyterian College.
