ROCK HILL, SC--Venture Industries of Rock Hill will be the title sponsor of the Big South Conference Baseball Championship Tournament for the second consecutive year.
That announcement was made Tuesday by Winthrop Athletics as the department continues its preparations to host the 2003 event at The Winthrop Ballpark May 21-24.
In addition to the announcement about Venture Industries, Winthrop athletics marketing director Jason Capel said two other major sponsors have also been added. They include Outback Steakhouse and Civitan International. The Rock Hill Civitans will be the lead group and will be joined by other Civitan groups from South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia and Alabama.
Capel also says that the opening day of the tournament on Wednesday, May 21, will be Youth Baseball Day and all kids wearing a jersey from their youth teams will be admitted for just $1.
Ticket prices for the four-day tournament are as follows:
All-Tournament Four-Day Pass--$30 ($15 for senior citizens and
students)
Single Day Pass--$12 ($6 for senior citizens and students)
Children age 10 and under will be admitted free.
