ROCK HILL, SC-- The Winthrop men's soccer team placed four players on the NSCAA/adidas All-South Atlantic Region Teams.
Junior Saidi Isaac was named to the First Team All-Region after he turned in a season with 16 goals and six assists. He was named the 2006 Big South Conference Player of the Year and also a First Team All-Big South selection.
Junior John Gilkerson was named to the Second Team All-Region. The 6-0 defender had a very solid season in the back for the Eagles and was named to the First Team All-Big South. He was also named to the Big South All-Tournament Team.
Sophomore Henry Kalungi and senior David Kenga were named to the Third Team All-Region. Kalungi enjoyed a very good first year as an Eagle. The 6-2 defender scored four goals and had two assists and was a First Team All-Big South selection. He was also named to the Big South All-Tournament Team. Kenga also enjoyed a fine season as he finished with three goals and is ranked among the top five nationally with 14 assists.
Winthrop and Virginia were the only teams in the region to have four players selected. Maryland, Old Dominion, Towson, and Hofstra each had three.
