Trey Morris was named an Assistant Coach for the Winthrop University men's soccer program in 2026, joining newly appointed head coach Dale Parker's staff. Morris has worked alongside Parker throughout his coaching career, spending three seasons with him at Lander University, previously working with him at Appalachian FC, and working with him for one season at Lincoln Memorial University.
Morris joins Winthrop after three seasons as an assistant coach at Lander University. During his time with the Bearcats, he assisted with recruiting, scouting, practice planning, set pieces, game strategy, and student-athlete development. Lander advanced to the Peach Belt Conference Championship game in 2023 and the conference semifinals in 2024 and 2025. Morris also helped coach and recruit players who earned multiple Conference Player of the Year, All-American, All-Region, and All-Conference honors.
Morris previously served as an Assistant Coach with Appalachian FC of the NPSL from 2023 through February 2026, working alongside Parker. During his tenure, Appalachian FC advanced to the second round of the U.S. Open Cup and recorded multiple successful NPSL Southeast Conference campaigns. Morris also helped develop players who earned an NPSL National Player of the Year, a Conference Player of the Year, and National Player of the Week honors.
Prior to Lander, Morris served as a graduate assistant coach at Lincoln Memorial University during the 2022 season, where he also worked alongside Parker. He helped lead the Railsplitters to a 10-8-1 record and an appearance in the SAC Championship game after the program finished 2-13-2 the previous season. During his time at LMU, Morris helped develop players who earned All-American, Conference Player of the Year, Freshman of the Year, and multiple All-Conference selections.
In addition to his collegiate coaching experience, Morris has worked with the South Carolina ODP and Lakelands Toros Soccer Club. He previously served as an intern with Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC of the USL Championship, where he worked closely with the technical staff, coaches, players, and front office on team operations, training, travel logistics, roster compliance, and game-day operations.
Morris is a graduate of Appalachian State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Recreation Management with a minor in Sports Science and Coaching.
Morris holds a USSF B License.
