Claire Mooney-Melvin has served as the Director of Academic and Student Services for the Winthrop athletic department since January of 2018.
In her role, she is the athletic advisor for all 14 of Winthrop's Division I programs. She monitors student-athletes' academic progress and advises them based on specific degree programs each semester. Additionally, she oversees study hall and mentors at-risk student-athletes.
Prior to working with the athletic department, Mooney-Melvin worked on campus as a transfer admissions counselor and then as the assistant director for transfer recruitment.
She graduated from Saint Louis with a bachelor's degree in elementary education in 2007 and added a master's degree from Southern Illinois in sports studies in 2010 and a master's degree in business administration from Winthrop in 2018.
