Bryce Lester joins Winthrop as Assistant Athletic Communications Director in July 2025.
Lester comes to Rock Hill after serving as Assistant Director of Athletic Communications at Manhattanville University, where he led strategic communications, digital media efforts, and game day operations for the Valiants. His role at Manhattanville included managing social media, crafting feature stories, producing photography and video content, and overseeing statistical reporting with PrestoSports and NCAA Live Stats. He also supervised a team of student workers and contributed to brand-building initiatives for the department.
Prior to Manhattanville, Lester spent the 2022-23 academic year as a Sports Information Intern at Lindsey Wilson College (NAIA), assisting with communications, social media, live stats, photography, video, and game coverage. His early experience includes working with Army Football as a Football Operations Intern in 2020, supporting recruiting operations, team logistics, and player services.
A native of New York, Lester earned his bachelor’s degree in Sport Management from West Virginia University, with minors in Sport Communication and General Business. He completed his Master of Science in Sport Business Management at Manhattanville.
Lester is an active member of College Sports Communicators (CSC) and was honored with five CSC Citations for Excellence in Creative and Digital Design in the 2024-25 Creative & Digital Design Contest, including three “Best of Division III” awards recognizing his work in graphics and milestone design.
