Courtney Furlong grew up in Oviedo, FL. During high school she was a part of Oviedo High School’s first State Championship team in 2013. She was awarded Florida’s Ms. Dairy Farmer Player of the Year and Florida’s Gatorade Player of the Year in 2014. Furlong continued her career at the University of South Carolina where she was an outside hitter and four-year scholarship athlete. Furlong was named on the All-SEC Community Service Team and was recognized on the SEC Honor Roll all four seasons. She finished her college career on a high by helping her team, not only make it into the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 16 years, but also going on to play in the second round. She led the team with a .444 hitting percentage and 16 kills vs. Colorado in the first round of the NCAA tournament.
Furlong received her bachelor’s degree in Experimental Psychology from the University of South Carolina and is continuing her education at Winthrop University to obtain her master’s degree in School Psychology to become a School Psychologist.
