Katherine Johnson

Katherine Johnson is currently in her second season as the Director of Soccer Operations for the Winthrop women’s soccer program.

A native of Chapel Hill, NC, Johnson is a 2010 graduate of Queens (NC) University where she lettered for four years on the women’s soccer team, and made an appearance in the NCAA Tournament during the 2007 season.

She was named team captain and Most Valuable Player during her senior season in 2009, and made First Team All-Conference as a forward. Johnson was also placed on the 2008 and 2009 ESPN Academic All-District Teams to go along with being voted as the first-ever Student-Athlete of the Month at Queens in 2008. She earned Second Team All-Conference honors as well during her freshman campaign in 2006.

During her four-year playing career with the Royals, Johnson played in 84 games and tallied 50 total points on 17 goals and 16 assists. She scored a career-high eight goals in 2006, while dishing out a personal-best seven assists during the 2009 campaign. Johnson also posted 21 points in 2006.

She graduated from Queens in 2010 with a degree in Corporate Communications and a minor in Psychology.
