Johnathan Brabson

Johnathan Brabson was hired as an assistant coach for the Winthrop women’s soccer team in June of 2006. Brabson was promoted to Associate Head Coach in the spring of 2013.

Prior to joining the women's soccer program, Brabson spent six seasons as the head coach, and two years as an assistant coach, of the Queens University of Charlotte women’s soccer team. In his two seasons as head coach, Queens went a combined 15-19-2 and 10-14-1 in the CVAC Conference.

He graduated from Maryville College (TN) in 1998 with a bachelor’s degree in business and organizational management. He was a four-year starter and team captain while at Division III Maryville, where he was an All-South Region selection in 1997. Brabson also played semi-professional soccer for two years with the Chattanooga Express and Clarksville Gunners.

His duties at Winthrop include assisting in daily activities, recruiting, travel arrangements and student-athlete academic affairs.

Brabson and his wife, Tara, have two children, Jake and Macie and they reside in Charlotte, NC.
