Ana Morton enters her first season (2022-23) as the director of women’s basketball operations at Winthrop.
Morton comes to Winthrop after spending last year as an assistant coach at Milligan. Prior to that, Morton served as a physical education teacher and basketball, volleyball and track coach at the prep and AAU levels for eight years.
She led Tyner Middle Academy to a district title in 2013 and spent the next five seasons as the head coach of Orchard Knob Middle. Morton took over a struggling Orchard Knob program and led it to a regular season runner-up showing in her first season.
In the AAU and circuit, Morton has coached for Reign FBC, TN Xtreme, TN Grizzliez and TN Swarm.
Several of Morton’s former players went on to
compete collegiately at the NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA and junior college levels.
A standout basketball player at Page High School, Morton graduated from the University Tennessee at Chattanooga in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical Education K-12 and a Master’s of Education Leadership from Carson-Newman in 2018.
