Krysta McDonald joins the Eagles as the Director of Women's Basketball Operations after a wide-ranging background in basketball operations, analytics and game-day management across professional and collegiate sports in the Charlotte area.
Most recently, McDonald served as Basketball Operations Assistant for the Charlotte Crown, where she managed equipment organization, inventory and locker room preparation throughout the team’s inaugural championship season. She also coordinated day-to-day logistics between players, coaches and staff, helping the program navigate a fast-paced first year in professional women’s basketball.
McDonald spent nearly three years as a Women’s Basketball Analyst for the Charlotte 49ers, where she tracked player and team statistics, analyzed performance trends and broke down game film to help inform scouting reports, rotations and player development. She has also gained game-day operations experience with the Charlotte Checkers Hockey Club and the Gastonia Ghostpeppers Baseball Club, and volunteered with the ACC Men’s Basketball Tournament in 2026.
McDonald currently serves as a Girls’ Varsity Assistant Basketball Coach at William Amos Hough High School, where she plans practices, breaks down film and works directly with players on individualized development.
McDonald earned her bachelor’s degree in organizational management, along with a sports analytics certificate, from UNC Charlotte in May 2026. She is pursuing her master’s degree in sport management, with a specialization in athlete development, from the University of Florida, expected in 2028.
