Cody Henry, a native of Joes, CO, is in his first season with the Winthrop women’s basketball program.
Henry comes to Winthrop after earning his Bachelor of Business in Banking and Finance, Managerial Finance and Real Estate from the University of Mississippi in May of 2010.
After graduation, Henry served as the Community Assistant at Campus Creek Apartments in Oxford, MS while he worked with the women’s basketball team as a volunteer member of the men’s practice team. He also served as an intern for the Ole Miss Skybox where he managed suite attendants.
Henry has also done volunteer work for the Oxford Lafayette Humane Society, Boy and Girls Club (Oxford, MS) and High Plains Elementary.
Prior to his arrival at Ole Miss, Henry played basketball for Otero Junior College, located in La Junta, CO. He also graduated Magna Cum Laude from Otero in May of 2008 with an Associates Degree in Science. Henry earned Academic All-American and Academic All-Region honors in 2008.
While at Ole Miss, Henry earned such honors as Gamma Beta Phi Honors Society, Phi Kappa Phi Honors Society as well as being named to the Chancellor’s Honor Roll and the Dean’s Honor Roll.
As a prep player, Henry was named the Denver Post Player of the Year while leading his high school team to a state championship his senior season. Henry was selected the MVP of the state tournament. He was also named his high school Valedictorian.
