Danny Parks is in the second season of his second stint as an assistant coach for the Winthrop softball program. Parks spent 11 years as an assistant prior and was an integral part of the 2007 & 2008 Big South Conference Championship teams.
Parks had been the assistant at Northwestern High School for five years. He brings over 20 years of softball experience to Winthrop. In 2011, Parks was the head coach for the South Pointe varsity girl's softball team.
Parks has played men’s fast-pitch in South Carolina for 32 years as both a pitcher and a catcher. He has played on seven Men’s Fastpitch State Championship teams, three Regional Champion teams and in five National Tournaments.
“Danny is a tireless worker who adds a lot of energy to our program.” says head coach Mark Cooke.
Parks and his wife, Kathy, are the parents of two children, Chris and Jennifer.
