Cameron Alksnis

Cameron Alksnis is in his third season with the Eagles as an assistant coach for the men's soccer program.

Alksnis graduated from Winthrop University in 2010 after a three-year career in which he was a member of two Big South Conference Championship squads. The first championship came in 2008 when Alksnis was a starter in the back as he played in 21 games. Alksnis had an impressive conference tournament and for his efforts he was awarded Big South All-Tournament Team honors.

In 2009 the Eagles captured back-to-back titles and Alksnis a starter in the back as he started and played in all 20 games. After netting a goal in 2008 (game-winner against VMI in the opening game of the conference tournament), Alksnis scored three goals in 2009 and finished his career with four. The Toronto, Ontario native transferred to Winthrop after one season at Maine, where he started seven of the nine games in which he played. Alksnis played in nine games with one start in his first season with the Eagles.

In addition to his seasons at Maine and Winthrop, Alksnis played for the Toronto Lynx of the PDL in the summer of 2007.
