Seth Thomsen

Seth Thomsen

Seth Thomsen was named Winthrop's new head strength and conditioning coach in August of 2022. Thomsen joined the Eagles after a three-year stint at Eastern Michigan, where he served as an assistant sports performance coach.

While at EMU, he worked directly with the men's basketball and baseball programs. Prior to his time there, he was the head strength and conditioning coach at Utah Valley, overseeing a department with 16 teams. He worked with women's basketball, baseball, volleyball, men's and women's golf, and men's and women's soccer during his time there.

Earlier in his career, he was an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Marshall and a sports performance coach at United Health Services. He also worked at Chenango Forks High School and completed internships at Harvard and Binghamton.

Thomsen played collegiate basketball at Division III SUNY Oneonta (N.Y.) and graduated with his bachelor's degree in 2016. He then received a master's degree in exercise science from California University (Pa.) in 2019. Seth is also NSCA (CSCS) certified.
