Matt Erps, a former member of the Winthrop men’s basketball team, was hired in mid-April of 2021 to be the video coordinator.
Erps spent the last three seasons under Mark Prosser at Western Carolina as the basketball video coordinator. His main responsibilities included breakdown of film for scouting, film review for practices and games, coordinating film exchange with opponents, and assisting in scouting preparation.
Prior to WCU, Erps joined the Winthrop men's basketball team as a walk-on during the 2017-18 season after spending the previous three seasons as a student manager. He saw action in 15 games, playing a season-high six minutes against Mars Hill on Nov. 21.
Erps earned his bachelor's degree in exercise science in 2018, earning dean's list and president's list accolades.
During his prep career at Spartanburg HS in Spartanburg, S.C., Erps played basketball and competed in track & field.
