Jermaine Ukaegbu joined the men's basketball staff as a Graduate Assistant in 2019 after earning his bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Winthrop University. 

Ukaegbu played his junior and season season under Pat Kelsey, where he appeared in 59 games, making 10 starts. Before joining the Eagles, Ukaegbu transferred from Indian Hills Community College where he appeared in 31 games and averaged 3.3 points and 4.5 rebounds while shooting 62 percent from the floor. He started his playing career at Sacred Heart where he appeared in 20 games, making three starts. 

Ukaegbu is involved with “Nations of Coaches.” He presented his testimony and the impact that he has brought to Winthrop basketball as a former player and now GA. 

The Silver Springs, MD native is set to earn his Master’s in Sports and Fitness Administration from Winthrop University in May 2021.
