Eli Foy joined the Winthrop staff in January of 2019 as the head sports performance coach for men’s basketball. He is responsible for all facets of strength, conditioning, & nutrition. Foy also serves as the strength & conditioning coach for softball and track & field (sprinters & Jumpers.)
Prior to Winthrop, Foy spent three years on the University of Arizona men’s basketball strength & conditioning staff. During his time at Arizona, he played a large role in the development of Deandre Ayton, the number 1 overall NBA draft pick in 2018. He also worked with top 10 draft pick Lauri Markkanen of the Chicago Bulls, and Alonzo Trier of the New York Knicks.
Foy also spent 4 years as a head strength coach for SWAT performance training in Tucson, AZ.
Foy, a native of the U.S. Virgin Islands, attended the University of Arizona where he competed in track & field and earned a BS in Nutrition Sciences & Bio-Chemistry.
