Winthrop University Athletics

Both Winthrop University and the Winthrop University Athletics Department provide a wide variety of resources to assist student-athletes in their pursuit of academic success. Athletic Academic Services within the Athletic Department are available to all student-athletes, regardless of scholarship status. While certain services may at times be mandated for certain student-athletes, all students-athletes are encouraged to discuss any academic concerns or problems with a member of the Academic Services staff.
 
Athletic Academic services for student-athletes include:

• Academic Monitoring, which includes:
  • Advising for course selection, relative to university and NCAA eligibility requirements;
  • Confidential personal counseling or referral; and
  • Assistance with career planning and choice of majors
• Tutoring
• Study Hall   

Winthrop academic services available to all students include:

• The Academic Success Center 
• The Language Learning Center
• The Math Tutorial Center
• The Writing Center
• The College of Business Resource Room
• Tutoring within various College Departments
