Biography

2010:  Finished his junior season third on the team in hitting with a .343 average (70-for-204) in 55 games played with 54 starts. His 70 base hits tied him for second on the team in that category. Also posted 10 doubles, tied for the team-lead with three doubles, three home runs and 42 RBI, and led the Eagles with 11 sacrifice bunts and 155 defensive assists. Had a slugging percentage of .466 and a .400 on-base percentage. Recorded Winthrop’s first walk-off base hit of the season with a single in a 3-2 victory over Wagner on Feb. 26. Hit first homer, a grand slam, in a 4-3 win over Wagner on Feb. 27. The four runs batted in against the Seahawks are a career-high for him. Also had homers against Harvard on Mar. 16 and at UNC Asheville on Apr. 16. Gave the Eagles 2-1 lead with his go-ahead single with two outs in the top of the ninth and snapped the team’s six-game losing streak. Had three RBI performances on two occasions at Charleston Southern on Apr. 11 and against the Bulldogs on Apr. 16. Tied for second on the team with 20 multi-hit games and tied for third with nine multi-RBI contests. Ended the season with a 13-game hitting streak, which was the second highest on the team. 

John A. Logan C.C.:  Was a two-year starter at Logan, the same community college as current Eagle pitcher Dom Patterozzi. Had a career batting average of .337 with 29 doubles, four triples, 10 home runs and 84 RBI. Also posted an on-base percentage of .413 and a .944 fielding percentage in 2009 at Logan. Received First Team All-Conference, First Team All-Region in 2008.


High School:  Honored as Varsity Rookie of the Year as a freshman in 2004. Selected MCC Second Team All-Conference as a sophomore. As a junior, he was named First Team All-Conference and Second Team All-Metro. Was honored as a finalist for the St. Louis Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame Rising Award as senior to go along with First Team All-Conference, First Team All-Metro and Second Team All-State honors during his senior year.


Personal: 
The son of Mike and Jane Gliebe, Adam is a Sport Management major who enjoys watching television, working out and playing golf, and plans on playing baseball and then get a job with his degree and have family after graduation. His favorite foods are his mom’s homemade chicken and macaroni and cheese, and Get In The Game is his favorite book. Ozzie Smith is his favorite athlete.
