2010:  Compiled a 4-3 record on the mound as a redshirt-junior with a 6.78 ERA in 16 appearances with 12 starts. Allowed 57 runs (51 earned) on 91 hits, 20 walks, 36 strikeouts and was third on the team with 67.2 innings pitched. Opponents hit .332 against him in 2010. Surrendered only two runs (one earned) in 6.2 innings of work in first start of the season against Marist on Feb. 21. Against the Red Foxes, he walked only one batter and struck out one while not allowing an extra-base hit. Had a season-high appearance of 7.0 innings against Columbia on Mar. 18 as he gave up one run on six hits, two walks and one strikeout. Struck out a season-best eight batters at Charleston Southern on Apr. 11, and also recorded six-strikeout performances against Wagner on Feb. 28 and Toledo on Mar. 12. Gave up only earned run in four appearances and did not allow a walk three times. At the plate, had one at-bat which came against Liberty on May 28 in the Big South Tournament. 

2009:  Finished second on the team in wins and posted a 7-4 record to go with his 5.42 ERA. Made 15 appearances with a team-best 14 starts. Pitched in 76.1 innings allowing 54 runs (46 earned) on 87 hits, 30 walks and 55 strikeouts. Had a season-best outing on Apr. 10 against Presbyterian going 7.2 innings giving up three earned runs on just three hits, surrendered three walks and struck out six batters.   

2008:  Made nine appearances as a freshman compiling a 2-2 record with a 6.85 ERA. Allowed 17 earned runs in 22.1 innings of work while striking out nine batters. Was the winning pitcher in the Eagles 5-1 victory against nationally-ranked Georgia pitching 3.2 scoreless innings. 

2007:  Redshirted

High School:  Was voted to the All-Conference Team all three years he played. Was a high school Puma Preseason All-America selection in 2006. Threw a complete game two-hitter in the WCAC Championship Game with 13 strikeouts.   

Personal:  The son of Phil and Cathy Newman, Wade is a Sport Management major who enjoys playing golf, guitar and fishing, and plans on either playing professional baseball or coaching after graduation. His favorite food is spaghetti and Tito Ortiz is his favorite athlete.
