Winthrop University Athletics

2009:  Finished last season with a 1-0 record and a 3.67 ERA. Was second on the team in appearances with 28. Pitched in 27.0 innings allowing 15 runs (11 earned) on 33 hits, 13 walks and 21 strikeouts. Earned first career victory at Winthrop in a 10-5 win over North Carolina A&T on Feb. 25 in which he pitched 1.2 scoreless innings giving up one hit, one walk and striking out one. Had a season-long outing of 2.1 innings in 9-6 loss to Kent State on Feb. 27. Posted a season-best two strikeouts against the Golden Flashes, Southern California and Charlotte.

Mercer County C.C.:  Was a team captain and named to the First Team All-GSAC.

High School:  Named First Team All-Colonial Valley Conference, All-Area, All-South Jersey, All-Group IV, Associated Press First Team All-State and team captain in 2006. Was a First Team All-Colonial Valley Conference and All-Area in 2005. Named to the Who’s Who of American Student-Athletes.

Personal:  The son of Gary and Debra Hough, Greg is a Sport Management major who loves to snowboard, wakeboard, surf and spend a lot of time at the beach, and plans on living in South Carolina and starting a family after graduation. His favorite food is pasta and egg whites, and The Rise And Fall Of The 1980 Philadelphia Phillies is his favorite book. Tiger Woods is his favorite athlete.
