2011: Started in all 54 games that he played in as a sophomore and was fifth on the team with a .292 average (59-for-202). Finished the season with three home runs and 25 RBI to go with a team-high 17 doubles. He also tied for the team-lead with 37 runs scored, and compiled 85 total bases. Posted an on-base percentage of .371 and a .421 slugging percentage (second on the team). Tied a school record against Radford on Apr. 15 for most doubles in a game with three, which was also a career-high. Hit Winthrop’s first home run of the season on Mar. 5 against Notre Dame. Also homered against Radford and Charleston Southern in the Big South Tournament. Recorded a double in three consecutive contests against Wagner, Kent State and Notre Dame. Posted a season-high of four RBI and four hits at North Carolina, and later tied his four-hit performance at Radford. Also tallied three hits each against Notre Dame, Charleston Southern and Coastal Carolina. Made one relief appearance on the mound, which came against then-No. 1 and CWS Runner-Up Florida on Mar. 22. Allowed five earned runs in one inning pitched against the Gators, while allowing three hits, two walks and one strikeout. Recorded 14 multi-hit and six multi-RBI games, while posting a season-long hit streak of 11 games. Reached base in 12 consecutive games, and finished the season reaching base in five straight contests.
2010: Finished his freshman season second on the team with a .359 batting average (42-for-117) playing as a first baseman/outfielder/designated hitter. Rotated between designated hitter and the outfielder for a majority of the season, ended the season primarily as a first baseman. Was fourth on the team, and led all freshman, with seven home runs and recorded 31 RBI in 39 games played with 28 starts. Was also third with a .598 slugging percentage to go with a .403 on-base percentage. Made five appearances on the mound as well, posting a 4.91 ERA in 3.2 innings pitched. Allowed two runs (both earned) on seven hits, five walks and four strikeouts. Was one of two Winthrop players to hit a homer in his first collegiate at-bat last season as he hit a three-run go-ahead home run on opening day against Northwestern. He also accumulated two other three RBI contests in back-to-back days against Presbyterian on May 1 and May 2. Tied the school record for most hits in a game with five in first game of a doubleheader against the Blue Hose on May 1. Drove in a career-high five RBI, was one of three Eagles to do so, in a win at home against Liberty on May 21. Went a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate in the series opener at VMI on May 14. Had 13 multi-hit and eight multi-RBI games, and had a eight-game hitting streak. On the mound, he had a season-high outing of 1.1 inning against Kent State on Mar. 20 and struck out two batters at Texas A&M on Mar. 6.
High School: Was a Class AAAA All-State player at Harlem. Received MVP honors for the East Cobb Indians hitting .478 and also had a 2-1 record on the mound. Hit .465 during his junior season with 12 doubles, seven home runs and 42 RBI. Also posted a 4-1 record as a junior with an ERA of 2.16 and five saves.
