Young Harris College:  Received a medical redshirt season as a freshman after suffering a back injury.

High School:  Was named Blessed Trinity High School’s Pitcher of the Year in 2008 where he posted 6-1 record with a 2.27 ERA and 44 strikeouts. At the plate as a senior, hit .367 with four homers and 20 RBI. Honored as the Blessed Trinity Senior Athlete of the Year. Participated on the 2006 Class AAA state title team and was also honored in 2007 and 2008 as the Georgia Dugout Club Player of the Week.   

Personal:  The son of Larry and Jeri Lobacz, Matt is a Exercise Science major who enjoys both fishing and fly fishing, and plans on becoming a physical therapist after graduation. His favorite food is spaghetti with meat sauce, and Lone Survivor is his favorite book. Jason Heyward is his favorite athlete.
