Biography

High School:  Started every game at shortstop for East Mecklenburg during his four seasons on the varsity squad. Earned First Team Southwestern AAAA All-Conference honors as a senior and junior. Posted a .433 average at the plate in his junior season. Lettered in baseball at EMHS from 2007-10. Was honored as a NCHSAA Scholar-Athlete all four years in high school.

Personal: 

The son of Kevin and Amy Daniels, Leighton is an Environmental Science major who enjoys hanging out with family and friends, and plans on becoming an environmental advisor for a business after graduation. His dream, though, is to play baseball when he graduates. His favorite food is pork tenderloin, and Chronicle of a Death Foretold is his favorite book. Josh Hamilton is his favorite athlete.
