Rock Hill, S.C. – Winthrop men's golfers Thomas Lamar and Mason Tucker earned NCAA Division I Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars honors.
 
The Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) announced its 2025-26 All-America Scholars Monday afternoon as Lamar and Tucker were among 649 Division I men's golfers to earn the academic recognition.
 
Lamar and Tucker each competed for the Eagles in 8-of-10 events this past season. Lamar, a 2025-26 Big South All-Conference selection, posted the team's second-lowest stroke average with a collegiate-best 72.58. Tucker, a 2023-24 Big South All-Conference selection, had a 74.95 stroke average and recently earned his MBA.
 
To be eligible for Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically in NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA, or receiving their associate's degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA. In addition, they must participate in 50% of their team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 76.0 in NCAA Division I, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their college or university.
 
649 NCAA Division I athletes from 210 schools earned 2025-26 Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar honors. Delaware, East Carolina, and Lamar tied for the most recipients from one school in NCAA Division I with six.
 
This is the eighth year in a role that the Eagles have had multiple players receive the honor.
