Rock Hill, S.C. – Winthrop women's soccer looks to go undefeated on the road this weekend, as they head south to face The Citadel on Sunday afternoon in Charleston. The Eagles soared to a 4-0 win over Queens on Thursday night in Charlotte for their second victory of the season.

SERIES HISTORY VS. THE CITADEL
The Eagles and the Bulldogs will square off for the tenth time in the all-time series, as Winthrop looks to add its second straight win. Winthrop took last year's matchup in a 2-1 home win at Eagle Field for their first victory of the 2025 season on August 21. Cordelia McIntosh scored her first career goal and added her first career assist on another goal by Monssi Avila-Gutierrez in last year's game. Winthrop leads the all-time series 4-3-2.
 
FOOT NOTES

• Sophomore Zaria Winston and freshman Ashley Ross scored their first goals as Eagles against Queens
• Winston led the Winthrop offense with a pair of goals, both coming within minutes of each other, in the beginning of the second half
• Sophia Balliet provided an assist on Winston's second goal, as she continues to be one of the main facilitators on the fastbreak this season
• Mia Ruffalo recorded three saves in a shutout performance, maintaining a clean sheet for the second time this season.
• The Bulldogs are currently riding a two-game winning streak after a 8-0 win over South Carolina State on Thursday and a 1-0 win over Kennesaw State last Friday. 
• Lindsay Sheets, Monssi Avila-Gutierrez, Cordelia McIntosh, Mia Silber were all named to the Preseason Big South Player Watch List
• Winthrop is 0-1 all-time against UTC
• Head coach Spencer Smith is entering his 17th season as head coach of WInthrop women's soccer
