Fripp Island, S.C. — Winthrop men's golf battled down to the final hole of the match before falling 3&2 in its Big South Championship semifinal match play vs. USC Upstate, Wednesday afternoon.

- The match came down to the final hole of the final group on the course
- Mason Tucker led in the early going of his match, but by the turn it was Jas Sohal who was one up
- Sohal gained momentum and won three of the next four holes to go 4 up five holes remaining
- Tucker fought his way back by winning the next three holes and the match went to the final hole
- Both Tucker and Sohal scored par on the final hole as Upstate won the match 3&2
- Ashton Eubanks defeated Phuthanate Kangwol 3&2 to claim the first match by either team
- The Spartans won the next two matches as Thomas Lamar fell 3&1 and Dylan Park 4&2
- Waymon Thomas led 1 up at the turn and never relinquished his lead, even moving to 2 up after an eagle on the Par 4 4th
- Thomas defeated Alec Prentice 1 up to tie the match at 2-2
