Fripp Island, S.C. — Winthrop men's golf posted its second-lowest score of the 2026 Big South Conference Championship at 7-under to position itself to a T3 finish and advance to match play for a shot at the conference title.

- The Eagles began the day a stroke out of fourth place as they posted their best score of the championship at 7-under and finished T3
- The 7-under team score was the second-lowest of the final round
- It is the second time in the last three championships the Eagles posted a 277 in the final round (last was 2024)
- Junior Ashton Eubanks finished tied for second at 5-under after a final round 67 (-4)
- Freshman Dylan Park finished T5 as he shot 3-under in the final round and was a shot behind Eubanks
- Mason Tucker, who didn't play the first two rounds, turned in a 1-under 70 to play a key role in helping the Eagles qualify for match play
- Waymon Thomas finished with a final round 73 (+2) to place T22
- Thomas Lamar finished T25 as he posted a final round of 1-over
- As a team the Eagles combined for 23 birdies and one eagle on the day
- For the tournament the Eagles made the second-most birdies with 52
- Winthrop was first in Par 3 scoring (-1) and third in Par 5 scoring (-16)
- Eubanks led the Eagles in Par 3 scoring (-3) while Lamar was also under par at 1-under
- Eubanks and Park led the Eagles in Par 4 scoring (+2) while Park led in Par 5 scoring (-6)
- Eubanks tied for the second-most birdies (15) while Park had the second-most by an Eagle with 11
- Since the implementation of match play into the championship in 2019, the Eagles have advanced to match play in five of the seven championships
