- The Eagles were two shots better than the first round and jumped two spots on the leaderboard heading into Tuesday's final round
- The Eagles improved on a day where the stroke average was almost a full stroke higher than the opening round
- Winthrop is within one stroke of the Top 4, which advances to the match play portion of the championship
- Freshman Dylan Park overcame a double-bogey on his first hole of the day as he made five straight birdies on his way to a 3-under 68 and is T6
- Junior Ashton Eubanks was also under par at 2-under and is also T6
- Junior Waymon Thomas had the third-best round of the day by an Eagle with a 3-over 74, which was highlighted by an ace on the Par 3 12th hole
- Sophomore Thomas Lamar was 4-over on the day while freshman Mason Kucia finished 7-over
- Eagles are leading the field in Par 3 scoring (+1) and second in total birdies with 29
- Eubanks is tied for the lead among the field in Par 3 scoring at 2-under and Lamar is tied for the second-lowest at 1-under
- Thomas leads the Eagles in Par 4 scoring while Park leads in Par 5 scoring (-4), which is tied for the third-lowest among the field
