Park Named Big South Golfer of the Week

Rock Hill, S.C. – Winthrop men's golfer Dylan Park has been tabbed as the Big South Conference Golfer of the Week, announced by the league office Thursday afternoon.

Park recently competed in the Wofford Invitational which featured five programs from the Big South and he posted a final round of 4-under to finish solo second at the event. It was the best finish of his career, topping his 5th place finish at the Graeme McDowell Invitational back in September. The nearest competitor from the Big South was teammate Thomas Lamar who finished T4 in the tournament.

At the Wofford Invitational, Park opened with a first round 67 (-4) as he was tied for third place. After shooting 2-over in the second round and dipping to T7 he bounced back for a final round of 4-under to earn his best finish. His two rounds of 4-under tied for his second-lowest collegiate round. Park tied for the team-low in Par 3 scoring and finished 5-under in Par 5 scoring. Park set a collegiate-low 54-hole total at 6-under, which is one stroke better than his previous low. Park's 67 in the final round was his 14th of the season of par or better.

This is Park's first Golfer of the Week honor in the league this season as he's been named the Freshman of the Week five times. Park is the fourth Eagle to receive the Golfer of the Week honor, joining teammates Mason Kucia, Ashton Eubanks and Thomas Lamar.
