Boiling Springs, N.C. – Behind a career-high 33 points from
Kareem Rozier, the Winthrop men's basketball team down Gardner-Webb 103-85 on the road for an 11
th straight victory.

- Jacob Hogarth (20 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 blocks, steal)
- Jacob Hudson (17 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, block, 4 steals)

FIRST HALF
- The Runnin' Bulldogs were on the board first as Jacob Hogarth scored at the rim
- The teams traded baskets until a Colin Hawkins triple had Gardner-Webb in front 7-4 at the 17:56 mark
- Kareem Rozier hit back-to-back threes to put the Eagles in front 10-7 to ignite an 11-0 run
- The run put the Eagles up 15-7 at the 15:48 mark after Kody Clouet dropped in a three
- Another three from Clouet gave the Eagles a double-digit lead at 20-10 with 14:29 left
- A 7-0 spurt by the Runnin' Bulldogs made it a one possession game at 22-20 with 11:04 but the Eagles responded as Rozier stayed hot
- Logan Duncomb scored inside to start another 11-0 run as Rozier hit back-to-back threes for a 12 point lead and Ed Nnamoko hit 1-of-2 free throws to top off the run for a 33-20 lead
- Winthrop pushed the lead to 18 points with 5:59 left after another three from Rozier, this time from the left wing in transition
- Eagles outscored Gardner-Webb 33-15 over the final 11:05 after it was a two-point game to lead by 55-35 at the half
SECOND HALF
- After Gardner-Webb scored the first points of the second half, Rozier buried a right wing three for the team's largest lead (21)
- Gardner-Webb put together a 6-0 spurt to cut the Winthrop lead down to 15 at 16:44 to play, but Seifeldin Hendawy put and end to it by converting three free throws at the line
- Over the next five minutes the teams traded blows as the Eagle maintained a lead of 13-17
- Gardner-Webb trimmed the Winthrop lead under 13 at the 11:26 mark as Jacob Hudson connected on two free throws to trail 72-60
- It was a 10-point lead for the Eagles after a short jumper in the paint from Hawkins
- Winthrop responded with a catch-and-shoot three from Clouet followed by two free throws from Duncomb to go back on top by 17 with 8:17 remaining
- That started an 12-0 run to get the lead back over 20 as Rozier topped off the run scoring off the drive off a turnover to lead 82-62
- Eagles continued its three-point barrage as it finished off the Runnin' Bulldogs with an 18-point win
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Winthrop and Gardner-Webb both shot 51 percent from the floor
- The Eagles knocked down a season-high 18 threes (18-of-36) while Gardner-Webb was 11-for-27 behind the arc
- Winthrop generated 21 points at the foul line as it was 21-of-28 and Gardner-Webb finished 12-for-19
- Eagles dominated the glass 40-29 and had 13 offensive boards that led to 19 points
- Winthrop finished with 25 assists, the seventh game of the season with 20 or more
- Logan Duncomb posted his 9th 20-point game of the year, finishing with 24 points as he also dished out a career-best six assists
- The Eagles had 10 threes in the first half for the first time since Mar. 5, 2020 vs. USC Upstate and the most in any half since they had 13 at Washington St. on Nov. 22, 2021
NOTABLES
- The Eagles win their 11 straight game, tying for the 7th best winning streak in program history
- Rozier connected on nine threes, giving him 80 on the year
- Rozier becomes the 7th different player in program history with 80 or more threes in a single-season and he ranks 8th for a single-season
- Duncomb finished 10-of-11 at the free throw line and now has 162 on the year, moving into 4th most in a single-season by an Eagle
- Clouet posted 19 points and in the process surpassed 1,500 career points over his collegiate career
- Duncomb also had 13 rebounds in the game for his 11th double-double of the year
- The 18 threes are the third most in a single-game by an Eagle team and the most since the 2019 team hit 17 against Hampton
