Craig Announces 2025 Cross Country Schedule

Rock Hill, S.C. -- Winthrop head men's and women's cross country coach Raffael Craig has announced the slate for the upcoming 2025 season.

In his first season at the helm, the Eagles have secured five guaranteed events, capped off by the 42nd annual Winthrop/Adidas Invitational on Sept. 26 and the Big South Conference Cross Country Championship held on Oct. 31 hosted by Longwood University.

"I'm excited to see the growth in our young teams," said newly minted head coach Craig. "This marks the beginning of a new era, and they [the team] get to lead us into it."

Winthrop opens the season on Aug. 29 at the USC Upstate "Eye Opener," then heading up to the tar heel state for the Pfeiffer University Invite on Friday, Sept 12. Following a two-week break, the Eagles come back to Rock Hill to host the 42nd edition of the Winthrop/Adidas Invitational before heading back to Spartanburg to cap off the regular season races with the USC Upstate Invitational on Oct. 18.

After the regular season slate the Eagles will embark on their postseason journey in the Old Dominion state starting with the Big South Conference Cross Country Championship on Friday Oct. 31 in Farmville, Va., parlaying that into the NCAA Southeast Regional Championship in Charlottesville, Va., hosted by University of Virginia on Nov. 14.
