HOW IT HAPPENED

• Upstate led 2-0 after the first two innings after a leadoff homer by Zenor to right field and Armsey's sac fly to center field in the second
• Sheahan's leadoff homer to left field and Newman's homer to left center field with two outs in the bottom of the sixth extended the lead to 4-0 for the Spartans
• Upstate led off the seventh on Grigg's solo shot to left field and a couple plays later Zenor's sac fly to center field upped the margin to 6-0
• In the bottom of the eighth Lucas's RBI single to left field drove in Sweeney to account for the final margin
