Jackson Batted .500 Over 7 Games Last Week

Rock Hill, S.C. – Winthrop senior outfielder Emma Jackson has been tabbed as the Big South Conference Player of the Week, announced by the league office on Tuesday.

Jackson batted .500 (10-20) with nine runs scored, six RBI, one double, three home runs and walked seven times for an on-base percentage of .630 in seven games.  She began the week homering in the bottom of the first against Youngstown State to spark a 3-run inning.  Then she led off the bottom of the second with a home run, which proved to be the game-winning run in an 8-3 win.  Jackson Led off the sixth and scored on a home run. In the next game against Mount St. Mary's, she drove in a run with a single and also scored in a 4-run second inning.  In the win over Norfolk State, she led off the bottom of the first with a home run and walked in her second at-bat of the inning.  Jackson singled in her first three at-bats vs. Western Carolina and in the third one drove in a run. In the final game of the week, a 4-2 win over Western Carolina, she was 1-1 with three walks.

This is the fourth conference weekly honor the Eagles have earned this season as Jackson joins teammates Katie Beck (Freshman of the Week), Lonna Addison (Pitcher of the Week), and Megan Powell (Pitcher of the Week) to receive the recognition.
