Rock Hill, S.C. – The Winthrop men's basketball ateam took down the UNC Asheville bulldogs to finish the regular season on Senior Day.
K.J. Doucet led the Eagles in scoring with 30 points and both
Kelton Talford and
Kasen Harrison achieved personal career milestones.

FIRST HALF
- Kelton Talford recorded his 900th career rebound at the 19:20 mark and is now 1 of 8 active D1 players with 1800 points and 900 rebounds. He is the 2nd player in Winthrop men's basketball history with 1800 points and 900 rebounds and 4th in Big South history
- UNC Asheville got on the board first by a three from Jordan Marsh
- Nick Johnson opened up the scoring for the Eagles with a three assisted from Kasen Harrison
- Not even two minutes later, Harrison found Johnson again as he nailed another triple
- Tommy Kamarad got the block party started swatting Kameron Taylor at the rim at the 13:47 mark
- Bryce Baker continued his Thursday hot streak into Saturday by knocking down two threes in the first half
- Kameron Taylor knocked down a three at the 4:50 mark to cut their deficit to 12
- The Bulldogs were led by Jordan Marsh who recorded 19 first half points
- The Eagles led by as much as 16 in the first half
- UNC Asheville's Marsh hit a three at the first half buzzer to cut their deficit to 7
- K.J. Doucet and Nick Johnson finished with 12 points apiece to round out the first half
- The Eagles finished the first half shooting 64% from behind the arc
SECOND HALF
- Winthrop got the second half scoring started thanks to a Johnson driving layup
- Toyaz Solomon got the Bulldogs on the board in the second half at the 19:24 mark
- Johnson found Kamarad in the air to connect on a vicious alley-oop dunk at the 17:04 mark
- Baker knocked down his third triple of the day at the 14:28 mark
- Doucet knocked down his third triple of the day thanks to another assist from Harrison
- Harrison surpassed double digits in points by battling through four defenders in the post for the lay up
- Marsh continued his scoring for the Bulldogs with a lay up at the 7:16 mark to give him 26 points
- Doucet eclipsed 20 points for the day by battling down low for the layup and the foul at the 7:03 mark
- Josh Banks knocked down his third three of the day for the Bulldogs to get them back within five
- Harrison recorded his 500th career assist at the 2:26 mark in the second half
- Baker continued to make it rain from three as he recorded his fourth of the day
- Johnson recorded his fifth personal foul at the 1:13 mark
- A pair of made free throws from Doucet help seal the victory for the Eagles
- Doucet eclipsed 30 points in the final seconds
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Winthrop finished the game shooting 55% from the field and from behind the arc
- Four different Eagles scored in double figures
- UNC Asheville was 6-of-11 at the foul line while the Eagles were 23-for-30
- The battle on the boards was won by Winthrop, 37-25

- Eagles tied Asheville for second in the league standings, but will be seeded third for next week's Big South Tournament
- Winthrop finishes the regular season 16-2 at home and 13-1 at the Winthrop Coliseum
- The 16 wins tie for the most in a single-season in program history
- The win is also the 21st on the season for the Eagles, which is the 12th time with 21 or more as an NCAA D1 member
- The Eagles and Bulldogs split their two head-to-head matchups this season.
- It was also the 6th 100-point game of the season for the Eagles
- The Eagles have now scored over 100 points five times against the Bulldogs, more than any other opponent
- Kasen Harrison finished with seven assists and in the process surpassed 500 career assists
- Kelton Talford finished with seven rebounds and reached 900 career rebounds
- Talford is just the second Eagle in program history to reach 1,800 career points and 900 rebounds
- It is just the 4th time in Big South history a player scored 1,800 or more points and had 900 or more rebounds
- Eagles finished with 12 threes and have back-to-back games with 10 or more threes for the first time this season
