SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- After losing to the Spartans in five sets earlier in the season, the Winthrop University volleyball team got revenge on their palmetto state foe, USC Upstate, taking them down in four sets in Spartanburg.

- The third set stayed tight early before McCollum and Avery Jolley fueled a 4-0 surge that broke an 8-8 tie.
- Paige Bennett delivered a pair of kills during the stretch, while Glover added two from the middle to extend the margin to 15-11.
- Winthrop's serve pressure forced multiple Spartan errors, highlighted by Torain's ace to make it 22-19.
- McCollum's kill from Jolley's assist capped the frame 25-21 to push the Eagles ahead 2-1.
Set 4
- Torain's ace opened the final set, part of a 3-0 start that included a Bennett kill.
- Winthrop maintained the edge behind Little's right-side kill and solid defense from Sophia Matthews, who tallied 10 digs overall.
- McCollum and Jolley connected late in the frame for back-to-back points as Winthrop pulled away 22-19.
- The match ended fittingly on a combined block from McCollum and Little, sealing the 25-21 win and the four-set victory.
