Rock Hill, S.C. – The first NCAA D1 men's basketball contest of the 2025-26 season will feature Winthrop vs. Queens as part of the Field of 68 Opening Day Marathon on Monday, Nov. 3 at the Rock Hill Sports & Event Center. The two teams will tip at 8 a.m. to kickoff the basketball season.

	- This is the first regular season neutral site game since Nov. 23, 2022 for the Eagles when they traveled to Cancun, Mexico for the Cancun Challenge
 
	- Eagles opened that event with a 77-52 loss to Southern Mississippi before bouncing back with a 101-87 win over Eastern Michigan
 
	- Hold an all-time 12-21 record in regular season neutral site games
 
	- Some of the marquee wins in program history have come on neutral sites during the regular season starting with the victory over 19th-ranked Miami in 2007 and defeating Georgia Tech in the Paradise Jam that same season
 
WINTHROP        
	- Not only is the start date early, but the tip time of 8 a.m. is the earliest the Eagles have had in program history
 
	- The previous record was in 2024 when the team opened on Nov. 4 against Piedmont
 
	- The 8 a.m. tip time is the earliest in program history, outdoing the 8:45 tip time on Nov. 15, 2016 when the Eagles traveled to Manhattan College for the Preseason NIT "College Hoops Tip-off Marathon"
 
	- The Eagles won that contest 94-81 behind 22 points from Keon Jonhson and Joshua Davenport who were a combined 27-for-30 at the foul line
 
	- Eagles hold an all-time record of 130-95 in the month of November
 
	- Voted to finish fifth in the Big South Conference preseason poll, one vote behind Radford (4th) and two votes behind Longwood (3rd)
 
	- Transfer senior Daylen Berry was named to the Big South Preseason All-Conference First Team
 
	- Berry is one of nine newcomers on the roster this season

	- Mark Prosser starts his 5th season as head coach of the Eagles (7th head coach in program history) and holds a 78-52 record over the first four seasons
 
	- Prosser earned his 100th career win on Nov. 15, which also happened to be the program's 800th win all-time (Eagles won on a buzzer three)
 
	- Prosser is coaching in his 247th career game and 219th at the NCAA D1 level
 
	- Led the team to 23 wins, the most by a first-year head coach in program history and another 23-win season in 2024-25

25th ANNIVERSARY
This year celebrates the 25
th anniversary of the 2000-01 team that captured a third consecutive Big South Conference Title. The Eagles battled their way through the season to an 18-13 record. Preseason Player of the Year Greg Lewis was lost for the season after six games. The season opened with the Eagles challenging the 6
th-ranked North Carolina Tar Heels in a 66-61 loss on the road. Led by Gregg Marshall the Eagles won eight of nine games to capture the conference championship, including a 67-65 overtime win in the title game over top-seeded Radford. The Eagles reached the title game after a 67-62 overtime win over Liberty. Winthrop was sent to the play-in game in Dayton, Ohio as the Eagles fell 71-67 to Northwestern State.
